Centreville National Bank (1928)

A handsome monumental Neoclassical building of Indiana limestone with a pediment, projecting ionic portico centered on the façade, a bronze door below a semicircular fanlight, and a parapet screening the flat roof. The building sits on a landscaped terrace above a low granite wall. The first Centreville Bank was incorporated in Centreville in 1828 and moved to this site in 1901. Sited near the street, it was demolished when the street was widened in the 1920s and replaced by the present building, designed by architects Hutchins and French of Boston, which was dedicated October 6, 1928.
