Border:
The inner border of the afghan contains the names of the villages
in the Pawtuxet Valley arranged in alphabetical order starting at
the top left corner of the border. The outer border contains spindles
with empty quills inside, alternating with the quills that have thread
wound on them. They are used in the process of weaving and were used
in many of the mills of the Pawtuxet Valley.
