November Monthly Meeting 2007

The speaker at our November meeting was Jim Havens, caretaker at the Audubon Society's George Parker Woodland Wildlife Refuge, was our speaker.

His topic was beekeeping, a hobby which he indulges in addition to his many responsibilities at the refuge.

For those in attendance it was truly an education in the life of bees. Even after the program many clustered around Mr. Havens to ask questions and get a closer look at some of the equipment he brought along.

He opened our eyes to what is involved in the

production of even one tablespoonful of honey.
