The guest speaker at our meeting was Ed THEBERGE and his son Dr. Gregory THEBERGE, a periodontist,
with offices in Providence and Johnston. Father and son have been interested for more than 30 years in
brewery memorabilia, from collecting of beer cans to the history of the brewing of beer.
As a yongester Dr. THEBERGE started bringing home beer cans that he and some neighborhood children
had picked up along the roads in the neighborhood and his father stored them in the attic of the garage.
When they discovered that there were others that collected them and that there was a market for them, they began attending beer can shows
and flea markets on a regular basis. In time their interest included other memorabilia that had to do with breweries.
Their Power Point presentation attested to the enormous collection that they own and now have displayed in one of the
doctor's garages-enough material to house a museum!
We had a very good turnout which only goes to prove that there are many others who are interested in all facets of the beer industry.
