OPEN HOUSE AT "THE LIBRARY"
We had a great turnout for our annual Christmas Open House. So many of our members attended as well as guests who visited for the first time.
The woodsy scent of fresh greens, the festive ornaments, the Christmas music, the aroma of mulled cider, the refreshing rosy punch, the hors d'oeuvres, the trays of homemade cookies - put us all in the holiday spirit.
To add to the festivities Lou MAYNARD made an appearance dressed as Clement MOORE (1779-1863) and, using his natural talent for drama, entertained us with a short biography of the author/scholar and rendered a most impressive reading of 'Twas the night before Christmas..." Mr. MOORE would have been pleased.
Thank you to the committee for such an enjoyable day, we couldn't have done it without your help. Taken from The Pawtuxet Valley Historian, January 2004, Volume 17, issue 5
And a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
